Brian Lopes riding for Ibis in 2008!

Lopes top tubeOne of the bigger pieces of off-season news has been the departure of Brian Lopes from his longtime sponsor GT. Ever since that announcement, the big question has been: where will Lopes go next? Well, all of you that have been losing sleep over this dilemma can finally relax. In a post on his blog, Lopes made the announcement that he will be riding for Ibis in 2008.

This is undoubtedly a big deal for Ibis, as Lopes is one of the biggest names in gravity racing, and his trophy rack is sagging under four World Championships, 9 NORBA Championships, and 8 UCI World Cup Championships. No doubt that Ibis will be kicking its racing program into high gear to keep up, and we’ll keep our eyes peeled for new carbon goodness coming out of Ibis in the coming season.
